Lanzarote is the fourth largest Canary Island and the people who live here are lucky enough to enjoy good weather throughout the year, as well as being surrounded by some stunning scenery – the white beaches set alongside dramatic volcanic landscape are truly unique in comparison with the more typical beach resorts. The island is roughly 12 miles wide and 37 miles long – this is almost 450 square miles to explore!  Where to start?  A much coveted destination is the Costa Teguise which lies only a few kilometres from the island´s capital. However, from here, you may wish to escape the masses for somewhere more traditional, a good example being the serene fishing village of Playa Blanca; or perhaps you would like to join the party in La Avendida Maritima – a stretch of bars and nightclubs offering something for every taste in music.  After a two week holiday, it would be impossible to say you have seen all there is to see in Lanzarote.  Nor - in times such as these with both increasingly demanding jobs and home lives - is two weeks a year sufficient to completely relax.  What would be ideal is a holiday home in the sun to which you can escape as and when you feel the need.  This is not such a far-fetched idea as it may seem.  More and more people are choosing to buy real estate in Spain – not only as a means to escape the daily grind but also as a great investment for the future.
