What to see

It used to be an old house from the 18 th century, but in February 18, 2000, the El Museo Etnografico Tanit was established as a museum. The museum is made up of an exhibition gallery, a chapel, an old beam press, craft shop, market garden, a caf with a lovely terrace, and a dance floor.

Also from the 18 th century is the old grand house, La Casa de La Cultura Ajei . Here one can see all the tools and materials that were used by Canarian farmers. This cultural center is open Monday to Friday from 5pm to 10pm.

The Church of San Bartolome is also a must-see. Founded in 1787 by D. Cayetano Guerra and built in 1789, you will certainly enjoy its architectural splendor, and inside the church are carvings of San Andres , and an impressive altarpiece that dates back to the 18 th century.

Located in Mozaga, El Monumento del Campesino is the most emblematic and authentic example of popular rural architecture. Of particular mention are the sculpture of the fertility that shows a peasant with his flock, which was made by Jesus Soto from a design by Cesar Manrique . The house contains a museum, bar, restaurant, shop, workshops and a craft museum, and a display pf the possessions and belongings of the earlier inhabitants of the island.
